about Joe |
Joe grew up in Hanover MA. and has been involved with agriculture his whole life, from showing and judging to raising and training all different types of livestock. He is a graduate of Meredith Manor International equestrian center. Through his formal education he received a masters in Farrier science, a teaching master, training master, riding master, and completed a breeding courses at Ohio State University. This education also involved horse health and barn management. Joe excelled in farrier science and was chosen as an assistant farrier instructor and taught a shoeing course to receive his certification as an instructor. Soon after graduation he was hired as a farrier for the Wonder ful World of Horses staring the "World Famous Royal lipizzaner stallion". On tour Joe did an abundance of specialty shoeing allowing the stallions proper traction for a variety of footing. After two tours, Joe started his own practice of shoeing on the south Shore of Massachusetts where he grew up. Shoeing for over 14 years, Joe is proud to have a very successful business working on horses from the basic trim to the complicated science of therapeutic and performance shoeing. Joes back ground of training and riding gives him the ability to handle temperamental and otherwise "problem" horses. Joe works very closely with many of the surrounding vets in the area on horses with severe foot disease and lameness. Currently more than 50% of Joes business is therapudic or "corrective" shoeing and he intends to expand on working with horses in need of specialty shoeing. He likes to see horses in need, become happy and sound. |
